We finally bought our backpacks at Snow and Rock in Bristol today. We've almost completed gathering all the equipment we'll need on our trip - The few things left to buy, i.e, hiking boots, a silk sleeping bag liner (to avoid gettting bitten to death by fleas, dingos, fruit bats and such whilst sleeping) and a few other bits and pieces are all easily obtainable and I think we can finally say
