The Rucksack...

We finally bought our backpacks at Snow and Rock in Bristol today. We've almost completed gathering all the equipment we'll need on our trip - The few things left to buy, i.e, hiking boots, a silk sleeping bag liner (to avoid gettting bitten to death by fleas, dingos, fruit bats and such whilst sleeping) and a few other bits and pieces are all easily obtainable and I think we can finally say we're ready to hit Australia. Could also do with a pair shorts that doesn't make me look like I'm either 13 years old  or dangerous to children. Fingers crossed we'll find something.

Anyhoo...

Here's the bag I went for:


















It's the 'TFX APPALACHIAN 65:85'. The name means nothing at all, but it can carry a tonne of stuff (about 80 litres worth)| and feels good on. 'Nuff said. Most importantly, Lynne bought me an iron - on superman logo to stick on the bag, so all I need to figure out now is where the logo will look good. There will be much swearing at ithuis bag while I'm hauling it around at airports and stuffing it into the back of a tiny car, but I've grown quite attached to it at the moment and currently feel like it could do no wrong. Lynne bought a very girly green one, which is slightly smaller than mine. I think she's expecting me to carry her hair straightners and make up studio she keeps in the living room.May need to negotiate this.
